Hi Capt. Brian and Willis, Great Grandhaven seminar! I was wondering if either of you, or anyone else, has any experience fishing for Kings down in the 200'-300' range? I asked the question of Capt. Dave at the super salmon clinic and he basically said, "you see our name at the top of the leader board don't ya, they didn't invent that in Wisconsin." What I've heard is blue colors seem to work best w/ the Blacks releases set VERY tight. Any insights?

Deep has been the trend lately, and blue is a good color when fishing deep. It depends on how close you get to the bottom, because the bottom reflects light so different colors will work if you are within 10-15' of the bottom. I would have to say you can use white, green, or blue, but the most important part is getting the fish attracted to your spread. A bigger flasher seems to work really well in this situation. The 200-300' range I would say is at the extreme of deep, but not saying it is to deep. It is also true that you need to tighten the releases and I do use blacks. Is deep the answer to winning tournaments? I don't think so, but it is definitely something to try and it does work when conditions are right.
Capt. Brian
